10 Best Restaurants in Lake Oswego, Oregon

A Local’s Guide — by Gael Hofemeier, Portland Metro Buyer’s Agent

I spend a lot of time in Lake Oswego — it’s one of the primary markets I serve as a buyer’s agent with Coldwell Banker Bain’s Team Angell & Co. And one of the questions I get most is: “What’s the food scene like in Lake Oswego?”

Short answer: it’s really good. Better than most people expect from a city of this size. So, I put together this list — ordered from most affordable to most splurge-worthy — based on ratings, reviews, and my own experience eating my way through this market. Because yes, that’s part of the job.

Whether you’re a current resident, a buyer exploring the area, or someone relocating from out of state, this is your starting point.

1. Gubanc’s Restaurant

$ |  The OG Neighborhood Pub

Gubanc’s has been a Lake Oswego staple since the 1980s — and there’s a reason it’s still packed. This is where locals come when they want a great meal without the fuss: cozy booths, a full bar, and a Reuben sandwich that people around here are weirdly passionate about. The French dip is another winner. It’s not trying to be trendy. It doesn’t need to.

📍 Broker’s Take: This is the kind of neighborhood spot that tells you everything you need to know about Lake Oswego’s community feel. Skip the Google search and just come experience it. Gubanc’s has been here for 40+ years because the community shows up for it — and that says a lot about the people who live here.

Hours: Mon–Sat 11am–9pm | Closed Sundays   |   16008 Boones Ferry Rd, Lake Oswego

2. Lake View Taphouse

$$ |  Casual Lakeside Vibes

Fire pits. Lake views. A solid beer list and a menu that nails the basics. Lake View Taphouse is the definition of a great Friday night out without breaking the bank. The prime rib makes an appearance on Sunday evenings and it’s worth planning around. Outdoor seating in the warmer months is unbeatable — just know it can get loud on weekends when there’s live music in the bar.

📍 Broker’s Take: One thing I always tell buyers moving into the Lake Oswego area: you’re not just buying a home, you’re buying a lifestyle. This is the kind of spot where you’ll end up after a Saturday at the farmer’s market or a walk around Lakewood Bay. Walkability to places like this? That’s equity in your quality of life.

Hours: Mon–Thu 11:30am–9pm | Fri 11:30am–10pm | Sat–Sun 10am–10pm   |   305 1st St, Lake Oswego

3. Oswego Grill

$$ |  The Local Institution

If Lake Oswego had a “must-try” list, Oswego Grill would be at the top. With over 3,100 Google reviews and a 4.5 rating, this place has earned its reputation. The menu spans from creative cocktails to solid steaks, with brunch on weekends that draws a crowd. The service here is genuinely exceptional — the kind where staff go out of their way to make your experience memorable, whether it’s a birthday, an anniversary, or just a random Tuesday.

📍 Broker’s Take: The data analyst in me loves that consistent 4.5 rating across 3,000+ reviews. That’s not luck — that’s a well-run operation. Oswego Grill has the range to match the neighborhoods here: you can dress up or down, come for brunch or a dinner out, and it delivers every time. That kind of consistency is rare.

Hours: Mon–Thu 11am–10pm | Fri 11am–11pm | Sat 10am–11pm | Sun 10am–10pm   |   7 Centerpointe Dr, Lake Oswego

4. Babica Hen Cafe

$$ |  The Brunch Spot Locals Swear by

Babica Hen is the kind of place that earns its reputation one Bloody Mary at a time. The vibe is cozy farmhouse — warm, unhurried, genuinely charming. The Benedicts are a standout, the scrambles are solid, and the gluten-free waffles get mentioned unprompted in reviews, which says something. Expect a wait on weekends, but regulars say it moves fast and it’s worth it.

📍 Broker’s Take: With over 1,600 Google reviews and a 4.4 rating, this place has serious word-of-mouth traction in the Lake Oswego community. That kind of consistent local loyalty is hard to fake — and it’s exactly the kind of neighborhood staple that makes people want to put down roots here.

Hours: Tue–Sun 8am–2pm | Closed Mondays   |   15964 Boones Ferry Rd, Lake Oswego

5. La Provence Boulangerie & Patisserie

$$ |  Best Brunch in Lake Oswego — Full Stop

La Provence is the real deal. A French-inspired boulangerie and patisserie with croissants that are genuinely flaky, perfectly buttery, and worth every calorie. The risotto cakes are a signature dish people rave about. Brunch here is an experience — outdoor seating when the weather cooperates, pastry cases that make it impossible to leave without grabbing something extra. Open 7 days a week, 7am to 4pm. Come early on weekends.

📍 Broker’s Take: La Provence has an atmosphere that’s hard to find in the Portland Metro area — unhurried, warm, genuinely European in feel. I go there when I need a change of scenery. If you’re trying to get a sense of what Lake Oswego’s day-to-day feels like, a morning or brunch here will tell you more than any listing description ever could.

Hours: Daily 7am–4pm   |   16350 Boones Ferry Rd, Lake Oswego

6. Nicoletta’s Table and Marketplace

$$ |  Italian Done Right

Walk in and you’re immediately hit with the marketplace — oils, pasta salads, gelato, fresh herbs. It sets the tone for everything that follows. Nicoletta’s serves Italian food that’s confident and well-executed: arancini that are perfectly fried, a Dungeness crab ravioli that shows up on nearly every “best of” list in the area, and a chicken parm that earns its spot on the menu. There’s also a full bar and a cocktail program worth exploring.

📍 Broker’s Take: Lake Oswego’s dining scene punches above its weight for a city this size — and Nicoletta’s is a big reason why. An in-house marketplace, a full bar, and Italian food that’s actually well-executed. This is the kind of place that makes the case for Lake Oswego all on its own.

Hours: Tue–Sat 11am–9pm | Sun 4–9pm | Closed Mondays   |   333 S State St, Lake Oswego

7. Mann’s On The Lake

$$–$$$ |  Best View in Town

Mann’s sits right on the lake, and when the weather cooperates, there’s no better seat in Lake Oswego. The cocktail program is inventive, the beef tartare is a must-order (a genuine restaurant-quality execution), and the happy hour is one of the better values in town. The vibe inside is warm and elevated without being stuffy. Fair warning: parking can be a project, but it’s worth it.

📍 Broker’s Take: A lakefront restaurant in a city built around its lake. This is what the Lake Oswego lifestyle is all about — buyers are investing in more than square footage. Views like this don’t depreciate.

Hours: Mon–Wed 3–9pm | Thu–Fri 3–10pm | Sat–Sun 10am–9/10pm   |   40 N State St, Lake Oswego

8. Willamette Valley Vineyards – Lake Oswego

$$$ |  Wine + Small Plates, 4.8 Stars

This is the sleeper hit on this list. WVV’s Lake Oswego tasting room is pulling a 4.8 on Google — one of the highest-rated spots in the entire area — and it earns it. The wine selection is the main event, but the food holds its own: pan-seared mushrooms, a feta/honey/pistachio appetizer that sounds unexpected and tastes incredible. The space is bright, airy, and beautifully designed. Great for a date night, a client dinner, or honestly just a solo glass after a long week.

📍 Broker’s Take: Whether downsizing or coming from wine country,  Lake Oswego has a sophisticated dining and wine scene that often surprises people expecting Portland’s more casual vibe. This is the kind of place that makes the case for Lake Oswego all on its own.

Hours: Wed–Thu 3–8pm | Fri–Sun 12–8pm | Closed Mon–Tue   |   55 S State St, Lake Oswego

9. Riccardo’s Ristorante

$$$ | Old-School Italian, Done with Heart

Riccardo’s is the kind of Italian restaurant that doesn’t need to reinvent itself — it just needs to keep doing what it does. Family-owned, warm, and quietly excellent. The truffle ravioli, lasagna, and pasta of the day rotate regularly and draw regulars back week after week. The real showstopper is the patio — flower-covered, relaxed, and about as close to a European garden dinner as you’ll find in Lake Oswego. The wine list is all imported Italian, and the second Saturday of every month is a wine tasting night worth planning around.

📍 Broker’s Take: Riccardo’s has been quietly holding down Boones Ferry Road for years — 4.6 stars across 600+ reviews doesn’t happen by accident. This is the kind of restaurant that tells you a neighborhood has staying power. In real estate, we talk a lot about what makes a community feel established. A family-owned Italian spot with a flower-covered patio and a loyal following is a pretty good indicator.

Hours: Mon–Fri 11am–3pm & 5–9pm | Sat 5–9pm | Closed Sundays Address: 16035 Boones Ferry Rd, Lake Oswego

10. Jewel Box Steak

$$$–$$$$ |  The Splurge-Worthy One

Jewel Box is Lake Oswego’s upscale steakhouse — and its gorgeous inside. The design is warm and intimate; the kind of room that makes a special occasion feel special. Wagyu flat iron, perfectly cooked steaks, a wine list that pairs well with the menu. The dark chocolate cake with cappuccino has been called a highlight by multiple reviewers, and I believe them. It’s dinner-party energy in a restaurant setting. Note: only open Wednesday through Saturday evenings.

📍 Broker’s Take: When clients close on a home in Lake Oswego, this is where I’d send them to celebrate. It’s that kind of place. And honestly, it’s a great data point for buyers evaluating the area: a steakhouse like this doesn’t survive in a community that doesn’t support it. Lake Oswego has the demographic and the appetite for it — and that says something about the long-term strength of this market.

Hours: Wed–Sat 4–9pm | Closed Sun–Tue   |   149 A Ave, Lake Oswego
